British Columbia is the last province of Canada in its west. It is situated between the Rocky Mountains and the Pacific Ocean. It is the only province, which shares two borders with the USA. Its name was given by the Queen Victoria in 1858 because of the British component in Columbia district. It is one of the largest provinces in the world. 3) Craigdarroch Castle
This Historical Victorian Mansion is situated in Victoria. It is a most attractive landmark of Victoria. It was built on a hill in 1890 by the richest man in west Canada, Robert Dunsmuir. It has covered an area of 25,000 square feet, in which 39 rooms are included. All these rooms are furnished luxuriously by Victorian Architect, elegant stained glass windows, graceful woodwork and Victorian antiques. When a visitor enters in its circular room, his self-guided tour begins. 1) Royal British Columbia Museum
Royal British Columbia Museum is a merger of British Columbia’s Natural & Human History Museum and British Columbia Provincial Archives. It is a significant cultural treasure of Canada. The title of “Royal” was approved by the Queen Elizabeth II in 1987. The museum is situated besides inner harbor of Victoria. There are three galleries, which show natural history, modern history & first nation’s history of British Columbia. The museum exhibits ancient artifacts, documents and specimens of British Columbia to prove its history to the world. It also organizes temporary exhibitions of artifacts from other countries and places in a very authentic way. Some tourists have commented that they have always found some new exhibits except of some old ones with every visit.
